A shoplifting suspect was arrested Thursday after police removed him from a Dumpster pointed out by a bystander.

Dollar General, 1908 First Ave. S.E., reported that a man stole some merchandise and let the store.

Police stopped Giddens, who was carrying a white plastic bag and said he did not steal merchandise. When the officer asked Giddens to put his hands on the hood of the police car he ran, crossing First Avenue.
