Nina Castleberry Mathis Hollingsworth, 87, of Waynesboro, and formerly of Funston, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Elders John Scott, Bob Dickerson and Lynwood Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Keith Dukes, Craig Dukes, Brad Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Ron Mathis, Clay Mulling, Stacy Herrmann and Tracy Hobbs.

Born July 14, 1925, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. Castleberry and Mary Melissa Norman Castleberry. She was the former owner of Nina’s Beauty Shop in Funston and was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro, Ga.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Mathis; her second husband, Denver Hollingsworth; one grandson, Ashley Mathis; and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Harvey Mathis and wife Mary of Fitzgerald; three daughters, Sharon Mathis Powell and husband Len of Thomasville, Brenda Mathis Evans of Columbus, Ga., and Phyllis Mathis Hamner and husband Rusty of Waynesboro, Ga.; one step-son, James Hollingsworth of Kissimmee, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, on Saturday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
