Southwest Georgia Insurance, Quality Employment win

 Southwest Georgia Insurance and Quality Employment won their Midget League baseball games on Tuesday at the Magnolia Sports Complex, raising their records to 3-0.

They are the only two undefeated Midget League teams.

Reese Bledsoe was the winning pitcher and had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance in its 10-4 victory over Ameris. Carter Boatwright had three hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance.

Zachary O’Kelley had two hits for Ameris.

Will Rykard was the winning pitcher in Quality Employment’s 9-4 victory over Mobley Plant.

In Tuesday’s Tiny Mites, Holman Supply won over Southwest Georgia Bank 13-6 and Mobley Plant edged Larry’s Bait and Tackle 7-6.

In the Farm League on Tuesday, Farm Bureau defeated Paradise Pool and Patio 11-8.

Chase Niezek had three hits and Jeb Johnson, Gavin Parkerson, Joshua Burnham, Austin McCall and Tadae Knighton each had two for Farm Bureau, now 2-1.

Cameron Summerlin had three hits and Jesse McMurphy and Garry Hill each had two for Paradise Pool and Patio.

In Tuesday’s other Farm League game, Lazarus and Ameris played an extra inning, but their game ended in a 10-10 tie.

Hunter Devore, Devin Watson and Kaleb Dell each had three hits and Drew Watson, Braidon Kelley and Caleb Hannah each had two for Lazarus.

Pershaun Fann had four hits, Evan Taylor had three and Tucker Pitts and Jamuntay Wilson each had two for Ameris.

Both teams are now 1-1-1.

Harlie Phillips scored two runs and was the winning pitcher as Dairy Queen defeated BJ’s Plantation on Tuesday in a Junior girls softball game at the Jim Buck Goff Recreation Complex.

Dairy Queen led just 3-2 before scoring fours in its last at bat to put the game out of reach.

Bailey Howard also scored two runs for Dairy Queen.

In the other Junior girls game on Tuesday, Bull Durham Insurance defeated Adams and Adams 9-3.

Dakota Baker was the winning pitcher and Alaina Taylor and Shana Sangster each scored two runs for Bull Durham Insurance.
