Investigators are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results to determine the cause of a Guatemalan man whose body was found Wednesday, but his death appears to be of natural causes.

The 54-year-old man’s body was found at about 6 p.m. in his 752 Jonah Tillman Road residence, the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office said. His identity was not released pending notification of family members.
Deputies were summoned when Gio Rodriguez and his father entered the mobile home to clean up, thinking that the deceased man had moved out.
Rodriguez told officers that they had not seen the man in two or three days. When they went inside, they saw him slumped in a lawn chair by the refrigerator.
It is believed that alcohol consumption may have played a role in the death, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said Friday.
“We’re waiting on a toxicology report,” he said. “We believe he was inebriated pretty heavily. There was no foul play going on.”
