The first Night of Thousands at Albany Motor Speedway was a big success.
More than 85 teams rolled into the 1/4 mile dirt track for their shot at $1000 to win in all classes.
A near capacity crowd was on hand to witness the event.
The Jackson Transmission Enduro division was the first feature of the night. Chris Berry picked up the victory for his biggest win ever.
Tommy Pantone challenged Berry lap after lap, but was unable to make the pass and settled for second.
Tim Goforth rallied from a flat tire early in the event that resulted in him going to the rear of the 26 car field and coming back to finish third.
The Doerun Gin Company Limited Sportsman rolled out next for their feature event.
Kitt Sealy picked up the victory.
Robby Metts battled Sealy all night, using the bottom and top sides of the speedway to attempt to pass.
Metts finished in the second position.
Skip Pannell was piloting the Ben Summerlin owned machine for this race. Pannell was all over Metts and almost made the pass for second but wound up third.
The Tyson Steel Late Models produced a strong field of Late Models.
Kitt Sealy picked up the win. Steven Roberts made a move on Sealy on the last lap to take over the lead.
As Roberts made the move on Sealy, Kyle Bridges moved into the mix making it a three-car battle for the win.
Sealy used a cross over move on Roberts to regain the lead.
Kyle Bridges was able to get around Roberts coming off turn 4 to come home in second place. Roberts was third.
The Wildcat Race Engines Pure Stock race saw Bradley Frakes start on the outside pole and pick up the win.
Michael Canady, Jason Price and Colden Vinent battled side-by-side for second.
When the checkered flag fell behind Frakes, Michael Canady was second and Jason Price edged out Vinent for third.
The final event of the Night of Thousands was the Mattco Land Brokers Mini Stock Division.
Michael Canady picked up the win after he inherited the lead after mechanical issues sidelined Brett Roberts.
Current point leader Wesley Hutchinson was second and Trista Atkinson was third.
Our next race is on August 18 with a full racing program.
