Officers make arrests at road checks

Law enforcement agencies in the county racked up an unusual number of arrests over the weekend, with road checks in Berlin, Doerun and Norman Park accounting for a significant number.
Local officers were assisted by area law enforcement agencies in road blocks that netted numerous traffic arrests.
Among those arrested in the road checks were:
Berlin Police Department
• Kenyati Jakeev Rahh-Pots, 23, 5466 Fulch Road, Hahira, was charged Friday with driving while license withdrawn.
Doerun Police Department
• Noel Candenas, 589 Circle Road, was charged Friday with driving without a license.
• Sabastian Martin Mateo, 31, 1001 Danes Ave. Lot 5, Albany, was charged with driving without a license.
Norman Park Police Department
• Rogelio Aguilar, 27, A.V. Favor Road, La Belle, Fla., was charged Friday with driving without a license.
• Brian Curchaun Sanders, 31, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, expired tag or decal and open container violation.
• Augustin Odonez Chavez, 41, 1417 Murdock St., Norman Park, was charged Saturday with driving without a license.
• Melissa Dawn Burger, 39, 542 Ga. Hwy. 133 N., Doerun, was charged Friday with driving while license suspended.
• Isaias Elois Hernandez, 26, 996 Doc Darbyshire Road, was charged Friday with driving without a license.
• James C. Stevens, 51, 228 Oak St., Omega, was charged Friday with driving without a license.
• Theodoric Ferando Oliver, 36, 1036 Second St. S.E. was charged Friday with driving while license withdrawn.
• Randy Lakay Huckaby, 34, 3109 Veterans Parkway Apt. C-11, was charged Friday with possession of marijuana and window tint violation.

• Joseph Robert Monday, 37, 233 Lindale Ave., was charged Thursday with open container violation.
• Timothy Lee Barrett, 692 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Thursday with battery.
• George Nicholas DeMott, 36, 121 Academy St., Funston, and Jimmy Darrell Smith, 500 Joe Gray Road, were each charged Wednesday with theft by taking.
• Jason McCoy Hones, 34, 3800 Ellenton-Omega Road, Omega, was charged Sunday with two counts probation violation.
• Marquis Hernando Young, 21, 507 Brushy Creek Road, Sparks, was charged Sunday with probation violation.
• Donald Travis Trull, 32, 1070 J.P. Rogers Road, Pavo, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, habitual violator (third), open container violation and defective equipment.
• Keith Lamar Yarbrough, 28, 156 Mulberry St., Funston, was charged Sunday with probation violation.
Moultrie Police Department
• Britney Lakisha Acree, 21, 1515 Fourth Ave. N.E. Apt. C1, was charged Sunday with battery.
Acree was arrested after an officer was dispatched to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where Faticia Clark reported she was cut during a fight with Acree
• Michael Snipes, 36, 1509 Hutchinson Drive, was charged Friday with contempt of court.
• Michael Jason Lewis, 36, 694 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Friday with duty to obey.
• Tarius Levarius Jackson, 31, 190 Dennis Powell Lane, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Rosie Lee Ross, 53, 2235 Sylvester Drive, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Jameson Strickland, 23, 4693 Old Adel Road, was charged Friday with no proof of insurance, running a red light, expired tag, safety belt violation, probation violation and improper transfer of license plate.
• Carlton Dean Hunt, 55, First Avenue Southeast, was charged Friday with public drunk.
• Jason Allen Word, 26, 135 Boulevard St., Smithville, was charged Friday with duty to obey.
• Gary Lamar Murphy, 38, 2102 Ty Ty-Sparks Road, Omega, was charged Friday with suspended license, affixing tag to conceal and expired tag.
• Gregory Lester Williams, 28, 602 E. Union Drive, Doerun was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana, removing tag, loud music from auto, fleeing and hit and run.
• Latanya Sharee Swain, 34, 418 Seventh St. S.W., was charged Saturday with driving under the influence and driving with suspended license.
• Melissa Darlene Hardeman, 38, 556 Teeterville Road, Nashville, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, open container violation and driving wrong way on one-way street.
• Jose Alfredo Govea-Solis, 26, 1330 U.S. Hwy. 319 N., was charged Saturday with no license and speeding.
• Jose Jeronimo, 32, 779 Jonah Tillman Road, was charged Saturday with no license and seat belt violation.
• Bobbie Lee Hill, 823 First St. N.W., was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, hit and run and driving with suspended license.
Hill was arrested when officers found him home after a motorist reported that Hill struck his vehicle and left the scene when told police had been called.
Robert Floyd, Pavo, and a witness, reported that Hill, driving a 1992 Buick Roadmaster, drove through the intersection at Fifth Avenue and Fifth Street Northwest, striking Floyd’s 2003 Buick Century.
Neither driver was injured, police reports said.
• Patricia Ann King, 47, 1251 Sardis Church Road, was charged Saturday with no tail lights, driving with suspended tag and no insurance.
• Isaias Elois Hernandez, 26, 996 Doc Darbyshire Road, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, no license and operating an unsafe vehicle.
• Catoya Walker, 25, 422 First Ave. N.W., was charged Sunday with malicious mischief.
• Alisha Bridgette Ziegler, 33, 422 First Ave. N.W., was charged Sunday with probation violation.
• Guadalupe Cruz-Romero, 22, 108 Fairgrounds Road, Moncks Corner, S.C., was charged Sunday with no brake lights and no driver’s license.
• Adrian Stevenson, 29, 709 Brushy Creek Road, Sparks, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct and probation violation.
• Courtney Jamaine Mitchell, 28, 720 13th St. S.E., was charged Sunday with violation of license restrictions and safety belt violation.
• Dina Cyleen Cannon, 42, 652 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence (refusal), failure to maintain lane and no license on person.
• Fidel Camilo Tepatlan, 22, 1169 Circle Road, was charged Friday with no license and improper stop.
• Jimmy Lee Harrison, 38, 7917 Thigpen Trail, Doerun, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Keith Lamar Yarbrough, 28, 156 E. Mulberry St., Funston, was charged Sunday with probation violation.
Assaults
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Angel Hendrix, 100 block Colquitt Street, Ellenton, reported Thursday that she cut a male companion in self defense during a dispute.
When an officer arrived at the couple’s home, Anthony Gottfried, was bleeding from the chest. He told the officer that Hendrix stabbed him for no apparent reason.
Hendrix and a witness said that Hendrix used a knife in self defense as Gottfried was hitting her in the head.
Gottfried faces a simple battery charge in the case, sheriff’s reports said. He was taken to a family member’s house.
• Kyle Johns, 300 block West Bethel Avenue, reported Thursday that a male relative hit him in the back as he was trying to break up a fight between that man and John’s brother Thomas Willeby.
Johns told the officer that the man had Willeby on the ground and was hitting him in the face.
• Tyler Lee Croft, 800 block U.S. Highway 319 South, reported Friday that a family member slapped his infant daughter in the back of the head.
Moultrie Police Department
• Sheterra Wilson, 500 block 27th Street Southeast, reported Sunday that a male acquaintance choked and hit her during an argument
Wilson had bruises on her right arm, neck and left chest area, police reports said. An arrest warrant will be issued for the man, who was not there when police arrived.
Thefts
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• John Besanson, 100 block Edward Warren Road, Lenox, reported Thursday the theft of a wallet containing his driver’s license, bank card and Social Security card.
• Heath Wetherington, 400 block Albert Brady Road, Lenox, reported Friday the theft of cooper wire valued at $6,000 from an irrigation system in the 400 block of Moultrie-Lenox Road.
• Carl Sean, 200 block Old Doerun Road, reported Friday the theft of a Snapper Comet riding lawn mower valued at $450.
• Gwendolyn Joyner, 707 Sumner Road, reported Saturday the theft of a Vizio flat screen television, Wii game system and games with a total value of $783.
• Edwin Norman, 2100 block Doerun-Norman Park Road, Norman Park, reported Friday the theft of a livestock trailer valued at $1,000.
• John Yearwood, 300 block J.D. Herndon Road, reported Saturday the theft of Hydrocodone pills.
• Eric Fulmer, 500 block Indian Lake Drive, reported Sunday that a female acquaintance used his bank account to pay her telephone bill without his permission.
Moultrie Police Department
• Ollie Warren, 500 block Second Avenue, reported Friday the theft of a laptop computer valued at $1,624.
• Jeff Johnson, 400 block East Central Avenue, reported Friday that a male relative stole his 13-inch television from his residence.
Johnson told the officer that the relative admitted taking the television but refused to return it.
• Bravtorvance Pate, 800 block Seventh Avenue Northwest, reported Friday that a female companion will not let him into their residence, and that the woman removed some of his clothing from the residence and took it to one of her relative’s residences.
• Mark Hancock, Tifton, reported Friday the theft of a bank envelope containing $780 that he dropped at a convenience store in the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue Southeast.
• Luther Engram, 400 block Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., reported Sunday the theft of a bottle of Seagrams extra dry gin valued at $30.
• Leatis Kinsey, 1100 block 11th Avenue Southeast, reported Sunday the theft of a wallet and contents with a value of $50 from a 2006 Ford Freestyle.
Property damage
Moultrie Police Department
• Annie Brinson, 800 block Seventh Avenue Northwest, reported Friday that a male acquaintance damaged a bedroom window when he entered her residence without permission.
Brinson told the officer that she and the man spoke briefly and he left.
Other investigations
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Reuben Collick, 100 block Jennet Lane, reported Friday that someone was inside his residence with a flashlight.
A deputy checked the residence and found that a piece of plastic over a window had been pushed in, but did not find anyone in the residence, sheriff’s reports said.
• A deputy patrolling Saturday in the 1500 block of R.L. Sears Road noticed graffiti, including symbols for street gang Sur 13.
The resident said that his grandson painted the graffiti, sheriff’s reports said.
