“Mr. Walden, thanks for the column about the internet evangelist. I tend to think what he has suggested (writing in Jesus on the ballot) is just an attention getter. I happen to be a Democrat if you go by the number of times I have voted for a Democratic candidate but I’ve also voted for Republicans. I also am a Christian. I’ve seen good and bad in both parties as I expect Christ sees in us. I also believe in the concept of separation of church and state, which if you search the scriptures, you may find is Biblical …“Give unto Caesar…” Thanks for our commentaries which I find humorous and thought provoking.”
Sawmill Road
“Could somebody please explain to me why a dead-end road, with no Colquitt County inlet (you have to go into Brooks County to access it) is being paved with Colquitt County money? Name of the road?…Sawmill.”
Cursive writing
“ I just read the rant about the child that could not sign her name. I can tell you that my child is in third grade at Norman Park and they do teach cursive writing. My daughter started learning the first day of school and by Christmas, she knew all letters, both upper and lower case. They then had to do all homework, tests, writing, etc., in cursive. Maybe all the elementary schools should follow Norman Park’s lead. Great job teachers!”

“If we can spend 24 million on road expansions and round abouts, how about putting just a measly 1 million in a park. Is that possible? Maybe at the new ball fields. Even Packer Park can use one. You know those roads (to Packer Park) are going to need to be expanded as soon as the new school is built there. Those little 2-lane country roads are going to be way too congested. Leave the intersection at Sylvester Highway the way it is. It’s not broke, don’t fix it. If you pay attention, you know where to go. If you aren’t paying attention… well you don’t need to be driving anyways.”
Things to do
“I owe the law enforcement people of Colquitt County an apology. A few weeks back I questioned why they were not out lying in wait for those stealing wire and metal from A/C’s at night. Now after reading the arrests reports for several days I see why. They are occupied with couples, married, and unmarried, who cannot get along and are calling the police over trivial little matters. Don’t you people realize the law enforcement folks have more important things to do?”
Out of state
“This morning I was filling out some forms and had to enter the address of my son’s insurance carrier. Get this: Peach State Health Plan (PeachCare), Farmington, Missouri! One would “assume” there might be someone in the state of GEORGIA capable of handling the state’s insurance needs!”
