3 charged in fight in apartment

A man and two women were charged Thursday afternoon following a fight at Shy Manor Apartments.

Shaquita McKoy, 23, 839 Shy Manor Apt. 4, told police she went to the apartment of Demetrius Dillion Smith, 835 Shy Manor Apt. 1, where he was present with his new girlfriend.

McKoy said the woman started giving her looks like she wanted to fight. Words were exchanged, and the two started swinging at each other. She said Smith struck her during the fight, too.

Police charged Smith, McKoy and McKoy’s sister, Shalaine Jenkins, 34, 1800 block Overlook Drive, with disorderly conduct.

• Daniel Harrison, 1300 block of Vickers Bridge Road, Norman Park, reported Wednesday that a neighbor assaulted him with a large stick at the neighbor’s residence in the 1600 block of Vickers Bridge Road. Michael Solomon Hiers, 26, 1616 Vickers Bridge Road, was charged with aggravated battery.

• Mary Bentley, 2300 block of Sylvester Drive, reported Thursday that she had a verbal argument with her boyfriend, he pushed her, and then he left.

• Terecia Anne Lacey, 1200 block Cool Springs Road, Norman Park, reported a confrontation between her and her daughter Thursday. The responding deputy noticed redness and a small contusion on her right forearm where Lacey’s daughter allegedly grabbed her and shoved her to the ground. Loria Nicole Meeks, 39, 1224 Cool Springs Road, was charged with battery (family violence).

• Charlie Rich, 55, 403 W. Central Ave., was charged Thursday with driving while license suspended and child safety belt violation.

• Monica Renae Cooper, 29, Camilla, was charged Thursday with no seat belt and no insurance.

• Maurice Corey Edwards, 30, 217 1/2 Second St. S.W., was charged Thursday with no license, seat belt violation (adult) and seat belt violation (children).

• Eric Demetrius Wright, 33, 172 Church St., Funston, was charged Thursday with probation violation.

• Zekevis Lafel Williams, 22, 142 Cook Road, was charged Thursday with no insurance.

• Kendra Patrice Lyles, 44, 517 Fourth Ave. N.W., was charged Friday with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, pedestrian under the influence and public drunk.

Sheriff’s Office

• Johnny Matthew Cox, 46, 289 Honey Bear Road, Norman Park, was charged with child molestation Thursday.

• Gonzalez Jesus Bejines, 35, Norman Park, was charged Thursday with driving without a license and speeding.

• Michael Lee Collins, 31, 122 Ninth Ave. N.W., was charged Thursday with driving on a suspended license, improper tag display and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Erica Lee Kirkland, 34, Douglas, was charged Thursday with probation violation.

• Antonio Bernard Wise, 25, 512 Seventh Ave. S.E., was charged Thursday with probation violation.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

• Eric Terry, 1200 block Fourth Ave. N.W., told police Wednesday someone stole a CZ Bullet Chain while he was at a residence on Sixth Avenue Northwest  April 28. He said the chain is valued at $400.

• An employee of AMEC Water Testing Service of Kennessaw, Ga., told Moultrie police  Thursday that he had collected water samples at the old Swift plant on North Main Street. The samples were placed in a metal 55-gallon drum and left on site for future retrieval. He wasn’t sure when the samples were taken, but he believes on Wednesday. When he came back Thursday morning, the drum containing the samples was gone. The drum was valued at $20.

• A City of Moultrie employee reported Thursday that power had been cut off to a residence in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast three weeks ago, but when he went to the house he heard the air conditioner running. He found the red tag on the meter had been cut and the plastic boots that were on the meter had been removed. The house appeared to be vacant, police said, and the landlord said the previous resident moved out the previous Saturday. The estimated value of the electricity that had been stolen was $60.

• A security officer at Walmart showed police a videotape Thursday from the store’s security cameras. Police said it showed a man they recognized enter the store and pick up three packages of meat from the meat counter. It then showed him walking around in the store and entering an area not covered by the cameras. When he returned to view, he did not have the meat in his hands, but the reporting officer said he could see the outline of the meat packages under the man’s shirt. The man then left the store without paying for the meat, which was valued at $40.23.

Sheriff’s Office

• Miguel Leiga, 700 block Sumner Road, reported Wednesday that his cell phone, valued at $30, was missing from his residence. He said he was told a man he knows entered the residence and took it.

• John Miller, 100 block Thompson Road, told deputies Thursday that his medication had been stolen from his residence while he was incarcerated, between April 27 and Thursday.

Moultrie Police

• Shena Todd, of Moultrie, reported Tuesday that her car was hit by another while parked at Walmart.

• Rachel Glover, of Dixie, reported a confrontation Thursday when she went to pick up her son from his father’s house in Norman Park. She said the man didn’t want to let the boy come home, and when she said she was going to call 911, he threw a lit cigarette in her lap. The deputy said she had a small mark on her arm where the cigarette hit her, and a burn mark in the lap of her dress.

• A county woman reported Wednesday that her daughter may have been sexually assaulted.

• A Moultrie woman told deputies she was sexually assaulted on Tucks Lane Thursday.
