All important
Trending
“There are a lot of people who work on holidays in addition to public service personnel. Nurses, restaurant employees, road crews, truck drivers, etc., etc. They are all important to us.”
Paranoid
“To the ranter watching the prisoners, don’t be so paranoid. The driver of the car was probably just trying to be nice and threw his own cigarettes to the men working. I highly doubt someone is going to use road work as a clandestine weapon drop!”
Hats off to you
“Lately the rants and raves have been sounding like a broken record, but I got to admit when I read the rant about renaming the Intermodal facility that made my day. Whoever came up with Intercommodal facility, my hats off to you. That’s not only a funny way to think about it but also a good description of where the money went.”
Don’t blame dogs
Trending
“Pit bulls are no more vicious than poodles. People train dogs to be mean. Don’t blame the dogs!”
Dogs issue
“Pitbulls! Fear! People want dogs out of their area for no other reason, than they are pitbulls. There is no law against having any certain type of dog. There is no law in the county about keeping dogs fenced in. Calling the sheriff, or Humane Society, is not going to change that. You want change, get your County Commission to pass something for the county to help with the dog problem.”
Welfare, jobs
“In reply: The Georgia Fruit & Vegetable Grower’s Association said the economic impact to the state due to fruit and vegetables left to rot on the vines was about $140 million. If Saxby would get Washington to get tough on food stamp, welfare fraud, farmers would have to beat people off the truck each day. He doesn’t want to lose the ag- related votes. Well he has lost mine.”
Brazen thieves
“Something must be done about theft. I have personally suffered several thousands of dollars in theft of tools and related items in the past year. It happens in the city and the county. Thieves have become very brazen about taking anything. Copper prices go up and every machine with an electric motor is a liability.
“I personally have taken to being my own night watchmen, with my 44 magnum and my Rottweiler. We must protect our property. it is what I make a living with..”
Not against law
“To those ranting about the pit bulls: They are not against the law, that is why you cannot get the Sheriff’s Department nor the Humane Society to do anything about them. Have the dogs injured anyone? Attacked anyone?
“Do you just not like them because of the supposed reputation of them?”
