Fred Greene

Fred Greene, 81, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at his home, after a lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held in Las Vegas with interment in Thomasville at a later date.

He was born March 8, 1930, in Quitman, to the late Christopher and Cora Connell Greene. He graduated from Moultrie High School in 1948. He married Rebecca Williams of Thomasville, Aug. 21, 1952, after a tour of duty with the United States Navy.

He was predeceased by brothers, Harry Greene and William C. “Punk” Greene.

Survivors include two sons, Fred, Jr. and Christopher; nine granddaughters; brothers, Larry Greene of Spring Hill, Fla., and Wallace J. Greene of Valdosta; three sisters, Inez Shepherd of Orlando, Fla., Vivian Bailey of Macon and Juanita Halcombe of Spring Hill, Fla.
