Lady Packers defeat Randolph-Clay

The Colquitt County girls basketball team bounced back from a season-opening loss to Albany High to defeat Randolph-Clay 54-45 on Saturday in the DoCo Thanksgiving Shoot-out in Albany.
“We got off the bus ready to play four quarters,” Colquitt County coach Rondesha Williams said of her Lady Packers, who are now 1-1.
Makeba Ponder, who had 17 points against Albany, put up 29 against Randolph-Clay.
Kenisha Seay and Ja’nice Sailor each had four; Natalie Griffin, Kandi Seay and Ashley Hendry each had two; and Bre Jordan added a free throw.
The Lady Packers hit 11-of-14 from the free throw line.
The Colquitt County boys and girls basketball teams will play at Monroe next Friday.
The game against the Tornadoes will be the opener for the Colquitt County boys team.
