A Norman Park teen-ager was arrested Friday after he allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in December.
Benjamin Paul Latimer, 17, of 315 Yogi Bear Road in Norman Park, was charged with statutory rape.
The Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) requested assistance of a Moultrie police investigator Sept. 19 regarding a case in which a 14-year-old girl had sex with a 17-year-old male suspect between Oct. 21 and that day. The investigator interviewed the girl at the Child Advocacy Center, and she stated the incident took place at a house on Nandina Drive and had taken place Dec. 11, police reports said.
Having been given the name of a suspect, the investigator took out a warrant for his arrest. The suspect, identified as Latimer, was arrested Friday and was taken to Colquitt County Jail.
