Jimmy Lee Richter, 93, of Hartsfield, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Agape Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with Paul Davis officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Keith Bryan, Andy Carroll, Randall Carroll, Joey Richter, Stanley Bass and Clay Moree.

Born Sept. 15, 1917, in Hartsfield, he was the son of the late Arthur Lee Fester Richter and Minnie Sloan Richter. He was a retired builder and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtalene Bryan Hawkins and Vonnie Mae Carroll.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Edna Mae Hawkins Richter of Hartsfield; three sons, Donald Richter and wife Bette of McDonough, Ga., Arthur “Sonny” Richter and wife Amy of Hartsfield and Daniel Richter and wife Carla of Covington, Ga.; three daughters, Barbara Moree and husband Ronnie of Loganville, Ga., Pat Olsen and husband Les of Canton, Ga. and Peggy Westbrook and husband Barry of Hawkinsville, Ga.; one brother, Coy Richter of Hartsfield; one sister, Bessie Bass of Hartsfield; 13 grandchildren, Jimmy Richter, Randy Richter, Shannon Richter, Ryan Richter, Brandi Richter, Clay Moree, Matt Moree, Missy Rose, Kim LaBlanc, Brittney Lewis, Lauren Wiggins, Becky Lewis and Jennifer Middlebrooks; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today, July 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
