Bro. Lynn and Linda Potts

The Colquitt County Baptist Church, 1717 Old Doerun Road, will be having its “Family Crusade” June 12-17 at 11 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. each evening.

Bro. Lynn Potts and his wife, Linda, have the “Picture & Praise Ministry.” While he preaches, she draws chalk drawings to correspond with the sermon. Upon completion, a black light is put on the picture to reveal a hidden picture.

The couple were both “saved” in their teens at their home church, Faith Baptist Church of Water Valley, Miss. They continued to serve at the church in various capacities in the ensuing years. Both of them served in the Christian school, Faith Christian Academy, that is a ministry of the church.

In 1998, Lynn felt called to preach and Linda felt called to further service, as well. After seeing chalk art for the first time, they felt called to a visual ministry. They stayed in their home church for the next four years in what they have come to think of as their training period, they said.

In August 2002, they took the final “leap of faith” and went full-time into evangelism. Since then, their ministry has been expanded and they have been asked to develop Vacation Bible School and Sunday school curriculums. Linda is working on a series of Christian book illustrations for deaf children.

They have also taken their varied skills to Christian camps and conference centers.

Providing special music for the event will be the Ward Trio.
