In response
“The law currently states that children of illegals who are born in the U.S. automatically become American citizens. The ranter is confused. The vote is whether to change the law or allow it to stand. The vote would change the Constitution. Much thought must be given to such an act.”
Citizenship
“To the ranter who obviously has never read or perhaps even seen a copy of our U.S. Constitution. Just so you know, any child born on American soil, regardless of their parents’ citizenship, is automatically a U.S. citizen. The debate is whether to change this. I would prefer a law that says at least one of the parents has to be a U.S. citizen before the child can be.”
Applause
“As a parent of a Packer I want to thank the community for your tremendous support throughout the season. It is that support that gives them the drive to get out there and play their hearts out. GO PACK!”
Panhandling
“Attention postmaster of the Moultrie Post Office. Can you please do something about the panhandling at the Moultrie Post Office? They follow you out to your car, walk up to cars, and approach people as they enter and leave the post office. This needs to stop.”
Timing issue
“Suggestion: I think the Christmas Cheer Shop should hold a toy drive earlier in the year – maybe the summer. In December, people are trying to provide for their own families and pay property taxes. It’s a tough month. Maybe people would be able to give more during another time of the year. It could be stockpiled until Christmas. I know I give as much as possible, but could do more at a different time. Christmas in July, maybe?”
Great idea
“I am glad to see that there are people in this community that care about having a park for people and children to enjoy. There are some good folks in this town just hard to find. A park would be a great idea for that spot where the hospital used to be. I would definitely use my tax dollars for a brand new park.”
Support?
“I keep reading a lot about a park. Are the comments coming from just a couple of people repeating themselves or is there a groundswell of support and ideas?”
Romanticized
“I think police chases are romanticized because of how they are portrayed on television. But keep in mind, on TV you have stunt men and controlled situations. Walker Texas Ranger even pushed the edges of fiction. No one ever explained Miranda to him.”
