Teen faces auto theft charge

NORMAN PARK – A Norman Park teenager was charged after he allegedly stole a truck and other items Sunday morning.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, theft by taking, obstruction and being an unruly juvenile.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to the Moultrie Police Department on First Street Southwest Sunday about a stolen vehicle. The deputy spoke with David Johnson, who stated the 15-year-old boy allegedly stole his Chevrolet Colorado truck between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Johnson told the deputy a location where the boy and the truck may be, and they went to a house on Fifth Street Southeast and found the truck. The deputy spoke with a witness, who stated the boy was in the house, and he was found hiding under a bed.
The deputy got the boy out from under the bed, and he was placed under arrest. During a search, the deputy found two bags of alleged stolen jewelry in his front pants pocket. The truck and jewelry were turned back over to Johnson.

Ivory Joe Ward, 30, of 386 Kendallwood Drive, was charged Friday with driving with a suspended license.
Scotty D. Bell, 46, of 136 Short St. in Norman Park, was charged Friday with failure to obey a person directing traffic, DUI and an open container violation.
Mickel Allen Poag, 28, of 5108 McMillen Road in Hahira, was charged Saturday with theft by shoplifting. He allegedly tried to steal a box of DVD’s, valued at $1,125, from Wal-Mart on South Veterans Parkway.

Quinton Lonard Farmer, 23, of 1655 E. Third Ave. in Deerfield Beach, Fla., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct.
Danielle Idella Edwards, 32, of 1212 10th St. S.W., was charged Saturday Cassandra Meza, 21, of 6953 Highway 133 S. in Berlin, was charged Saturday with driving with a suspended license and running a red light.
Juan Diego, 38, of 2700 First Ave. S.E., was charged Sunday with public drunkenness.

Nathaniel Baker, 23, of 815 Sixth St. S.E., was charged Friday with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction.
Waylon Joe Selph, 31, of 235 Kendallwood Drive, was charged Nov. 2 with disorderly conduct.

Ayustin Lopez, 28, of Willow Drive, was charged Saturday with driving without a license and speeding.
Luis Lopez, 23, of 386 Sardis Church Road, was charged Friday with DUI, driving on the wrong side of a roadway, driving without a license, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.

Raul Lopez Zapata, 26, of 2401 Nottingham Way in Albany, was charged Saturday with a window tint violation, no proof of insurance, driving with a suspended tag and driving without a license.
Epifanio Carrasco Crespo, 33, of 3934 Pond Place in Make Worth, Fla., was charged Saturday with an open container violation, failure to maintain lane, DUI and driving without a license.
Adrian Almoraz, 26, of 699 J.O. Stewart Road, Lot 5, was charged Sunday with a window tint violation, driving with a suspended license and probation violation.

Dennis Fast reported a male acquaintance stole a Pioneer radio from his Nissan truck while it was parked at Dennis the Barber on First Avenue Southeast Nov. 2. The value of the stolen radio was $300.
Bernice Ridley, of First Avenue Northwest, reported someone broke out a passenger window of her Chevrolet Malibu between 5 p.m. Thursday and 8:53 a.m. Friday. Damage was about $300.
Isaac James, of Elliot Brown Street, reported a thief pried open the back door and stole copper wiring and an interior door between Oct. 28 and 3:36 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $3,520.
Fortino Mendez, of Lynn Street, reported a male acquaintance stole a jar of quarters and clothing Friday. The value of the stolen items was $500.
Nick DeMott reported a thief stole his bicycle while he was at EZ Wash Coin Laundry on West Central Avenue Saturday. The value of the stolen bicycle was $100.
Mildred Phillips, of Sixth Avenue Northwest, reported a thief stole her grandson’s bicycle from her back yard between 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. The value of the stolen bicycle was $100.
Ashley Peek reported a thief stole her wallet, containing $95 cash, from a Nissan Altima while it was parked at Georgetown Apartments on 15th Street Southeast between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday. The value of the stolen items was $107.
Gina West reported a thief broke out a window of her daughter’s Chevrolet Trailblazer while it was parked at Willie J. Williams Middle School and stole various items between 4:30 p.m. and 9:21 p.m. Saturday. Damage and the value of the stolen items was $286.
An employee at La Fogata on Talmadge Drive reported a thief stole 25 Molten steaks, 50 pieces of chicken, 72 bottles of Bud Light beer, 154 bottles of Michelob beer, 24 bottles of Negra Modelo beer, 72 bottles of Corona beer, 24 bottles of Tecate beer, 48 bottles of Dos Equis beer and Jose Cuervo alcohol from a shed between 10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $1,688.

Leon Warren reported a thief stole a Triton air compressor and a Briggs & Stratton engine from a field on Highway 37 West between 5 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $900.
Justin Weeks reported a thief cut a fence on his property on Sylvester Highway and stole two Kubota lawn mowers between 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen lawn mowers was $12,000.
Noel Quitina, of Serena Drive in Norman Park, reported a thief forced open the back door, cut the telephone cords and stole a Nintendo DS between 7 p.m. Saturday and 9:53 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen game system was $240. Quitina gave sheriff’s deputies the name of a female suspect.
Ben Lewis reported a thief stole family photographs, two boxes of antique plates, a sprayer, a mower deck, a mower frame and miscellaneous items from his mother’s house on Hopewell Church Road between November 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen items was $6,650.
Cruz Marquez, of Quail Ridge Road, reported a thief stole four bushels of pecans from a storage trailer between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen pecans was about $200.
Barbara Wilson reported a thief stole 15 chicken boxes, a box of cassette tapes, a box of Christmas buckets, a pair of jeans, a jacket and two shirts from her storage unit on North Main Street Saturday. The value of the stolen items was $135.
Fredrick Kennedy reported someone shot out the driver’s side and a passenger side window of his girlfriend’s Mercury Grand Marquis after it broke down at the Ticknor Road and Highway 133 South intersection in Doerun between 3 p.m. Friday and 9:21 a.m. Saturday.
Sidney Cook reported a thief stole two rims from a Caterpillar, scrap metal, a Millen plasma cutter and an MTD log splitter between Oct. 1 and 6 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $2,001.
