Weekend theft reports top $23,000

Two Colquitt County business employees and 10 residents reported over the weekend they were victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included electronics, guns, cash, jewelry, donated clothes, a bottle of brandy, a drill and a truck.

The value of the items reported stolen and damage caused during the thefts was estimated at about $23,455. Those who reported being the victims of property theft were:
• Timothy Kelly, of Dorothy Street, reported a thief kicked open his rear door, knocked over a vacuum cleaner, damaging a wall, and stole a television, a bottle of ENJ brandy, a debit card and a credit card between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8:17 a.m. Friday. Damage and the value of the stolen items was estimated at $161.
• Gricelda Bustamante, of Regency Village Drive, reported a thief stole her Chevrolet K1500 truck Friday. The value of the stolen truck was $5,000.
• An employee at Verizon Wireless on South Veterans Parkway reported a thief threw two rocks through windows and stole 11 cell phones Sunday. The value of the stolen cell phones was $1,950.
• Jared Bridges reported a thief forced open the driver’s side door of his borrowed Ford F-150 and stole $500 cash, a CD player and other items while it was parked at Moultrie Stadium Cinemas on Hampton Way between 1 p.m. and 3:47 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $1,252.
• Daniel Van Dyke reported a thief stole a CD player from his Ford vehicle while it was parked at Moultrie Stadium Cinemas on Hampton Way between 1 p.m. and 3:47 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen CD player was $150.

• Mark Beck reported a thief stole a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol and a Mossberg shotgun from his Ford van while it was parked at Save-A-Lot on Sixth Street Southeast between 8:20 p.m. and 11:02 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen guns was $200.
• An employee at Hope House on Fifth Avenue Southeast reported a thief stole several bags of donated clothing Sunday. The value of the stolen clothes was about $250.
• Wayne Patterson, of D.H. Alderman Road, reported a thief pried open his side door and stole an Emerson 17-inch television between Nov. 27 and 7 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen television was $175.
• Belinda Bivins, of J.O. Stewart Road, reported a thief stole a gold herringbone necklace, a gold bracelet, a gold heart charm and a gold rose charm and sold them between Sept. 1 and Friday. The value of the stolen jewelry was about $500. Bivins gave sheriff’s deputies the names of a male suspect and a female suspect.
• Charles Roberts reported Friday a thief forced open his back door and stole an RCA 42-inch television, a digital converter, a DVD player, a Compaq laptop computer, a Black & Decker drill with two batteries and a toaster oven from his house on Highway 37 East June 15. The value of the stolen items was $902.
• Steven Lucky, of Highway 319 North, reported a thief stole a .380-caliber pistol, a Hi-Point 9mm pistol, a Sony PlayStation 3, a Kenwood amplifier, a Sony amplifier and a Kenwood CD player between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen items was $1,100.
• Jason Gibson reported a thief stole a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer, a Dell laptop computer, a Nintendo Wii with a fitness board, $7,765 in cash and change, two Citizen watches, a safe, a diamond wedding band and jewelry from his house on West Mulberry Street in Funston between 5:45 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen items was $11,815.

Moultrie Police
• Alma Grier, of Eighth Street Southeast, reported someone threw a chair at her front storm door and tried to pry open the driver’s door of her Honda Accord Friday.
• Shabrika Hamilton, of Seventh Street Northwest, reported someone broke out a window Sunday. Damage was estimated at $100. Hamilton gave officers the name of a male suspect.
Sheriff’s Office
• Charles Gay, of Inner Circle, reported Friday someone rolled his house and threw eggs on the roof Oct. 1. Gay gave sheriff’s deputies the names of two female suspects.
