- GUEST SPEAKERS: Sam Stephens, far right, introduces guest speakers Cpl. Lyn Johnson, left, and Sgt. Teresa Hitt, to the Keenagers.
Sgt. Teresa Hitt and Cpl. Lyn Johnson of the Moultrie Police Department spoke to the Keenagers in February about home security and personal safety for seniors.
Things to do while vacationing, and other safety procedures were also discussed. They gave tips on how to keep the home and property safe from burglars. They told them to remember to have their house number where it could be seen from the street so the police, etc. could identify their home if they called. It is also good to join the Neighborhood Watch group, they said.
Marvin Clayton, president, presided over the meeting and Loren Hildebrant said the blessing for the covered dish luncheon.
Frank Farmer and Wylene Goings assisted the members as they came in with their food. Eva Clayton, Jeanette Edmondson, Mildred Rentz and Sandra Adams hosted the luncheon with the other officers assisting. Peggy Bridges, Joyce Smith and LaRue Norris registered the guests as they entered the social hall.
Sam Stephens read some humorous jokes and planned trips for the group. A trip to Seminole Wind in Thomasville was scheduled for March 9. Recently the Keenagers rode the bus to Thomasville on a Valentine Surprise trip and this seemed a very enjoyable occasion. Jonah’s Sea Food Restaurant was the destination for the Keenagers and they thought the food was delicious.
Dot Mims and Jeannette Edmondson were the birthday honorees for February. Door Prizes went to Joyce Smith, Jim Pearson and Willette Pearson.
Ola Mae Clark gave quilt tops to the ones that were interested in finishing the quilts.
Loren Hildebrant prayed for the sick ones on the prayer list and others that were mentioned and said the benediction.
