MISSOURI — Lawrence Edward McCrary, 67, of Missouri and formerly of Moultrie, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Grant Chapel AME Church, where the Rev. Martin T. Kohn serves as pastor. The eulogy will be provided by the Rev. Daniel W. Jackson Sr., pastor of Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Warner Robins.
Born and raised in Moultrie, Mr. McCrary was the youngest son of the late Thomas James McCrary Sr. and the late Viola Marshall McCrary. He moved to St. Louis/Hazelwood, Mo., in the 1970s.
He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tuskegee University and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has worked for Texas Instruments and Emerson Electrical Co., and also contracted work for many government and private agencies. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel.
