ALBANY — Lynn Beaty, 56, of Albany died Friday, June 5, 2009,

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Goode and the Rev. John Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Aaron Council, Thomas Council, Alex Eason, Matthew Beaty, Michael Rawlins and Tommy Bobo will serve as active pallbearers and the Chaplains from Phoebe, ALDON, the co-workers from Gayfers/Dillards, and the Couples for Christ Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born in Moultrie, Mr. Beaty was the son of the late Herbert Lamar Beaty and the late Hannah Lou Beaty. He had lived in Albany since 1965 and retired from Dillard’s Department Store in 2001 after 25 years and he went on to work with VALIC, a division of American General and with New York Life. He was a 1970 graduate of Dougherty High School and received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Georgia.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church and teacher of the Couples for Christ Sunday School Class. He also volunteered as a Chaplain at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Beaty of Albany; three daughters, Melissa Council and husband Philip and Rebecca Beaty, all of Commerce, and Kristen Beaty of Albany; two sons, Jonathan Beaty and Daniel Beaty, both of Albany; three sisters, Susan Rawlins of Delafield, Wis., Doreen Allen of Albany, and Julie Barrett and husband Bruce of Tifton; two brothers, Scott Beaty and wife Laurie of Findley, Ohio and Robert Beaty of Summerville; and three grandchildren, Abigail Council, Moriah Council and Ashlynne Council.
