GARNER, N.C. — Ruby L. Hamilton, 80, of Garner, N.C., died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Britthaven of Smithfield.

Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 24, at noon, at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until noon, at the funeral home.

Born in Moultrie, she was formerly of Goldsboro, N.C., where she was employed as the manager of military clothing sales for the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Exchange. She was the wife of the late George Hamilton and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church on Four Oaks.

She is survived by two sons, George R. Hamilton of Rocky Mount, N.C. and David F. Hamilton of Garner, N.C.; one daughter, Patsy Newsome of Moultrie; two sisters, Ora Singletary of Coolidge, Ga. and Nona Price of Moultrie; and five grandchildren, Dara, Josh, Amy, Jenna and Bailey.
