MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County competition cheerleading team placed fourth at the competition at Lowndes last weekend, following a first-place finish at Fayetteville on Sept. 6.

Coach Carrie Parker said she had to use two alternates at Lowndes.

“Given the circumstances, I thought they performed a pretty solid routine,” Parker said. “We had some deductions for falls and an out of bounds.

“Our scores should improve at Tifton. We’ll spend this week correcting our mistakes an focusing on our strengths.”

Colquitt County will compete against Valdosta and Tift County beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

“My biggest challenge as their coach is trying to convince them of how good they are and to believe in themselves and each other,” Parker said.

“They are gaining confidence with each competition.”
