Quality Employment still unbeaten in Pony League

MOULTRIE — Quality Employment broke a 3-3 tie by scoring five runs in the fourth inning, then held off VFW in the bottom of the fifth to take an 8-6 Pony League victory on Monday at the Magnolia Complex.
Austin Dykes was the winning pitcher for Quality Employment, which remains unbeaten at 11-0 with four games remaining in the season.
Aubrey McCarty had three hits and Brett Smith had a home run for VFW, now 7-4.
Southwest Georgia Bank blanked Ameris 12-0 in Monday’s other Pony League game.
Blake Bennett was the winning pitcher and Cody Carr and Austin Vines each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 5-6. Matt Gerald and Skyler Lindsey each had two hits for Ameris, now 7-4.
Mobley Plant raised its Midget League record to 8-1-2 with an 11-4 victory over Southwest Georgia Insurance on Monday.
Preston Berry was the winning pitcher and helped his own cause with three hits, including a home run.
Dalton Dillon also homered and Austin Mercer had two hits for Mobley Plant.
Brandon Chafin was the winning pitcher and Austin Hunnicutt had two hits in Quality Employment’s 10-3 Midget League victory on Monday. The victory raised Quality Employment’s record to 7-4.
Both of Monday’s Farm League games were one-run affairs.
Lazarus raised its record to 9-2 with a 4-3 victory over McAlpin Signs. Codi Noble of Lazarus had two hits. McAlpin Signs is 7-3.
Tyler Spires had three hits to lead Farm Bureau to a 5-4 victory over Ameris.
Owen Harrell had three hits an Jermon Christy and Ian Brinson each had two for Ameris.
In Monday’s Tiny Mite games, MPrints defeated Mattco 7-4 and Larry’s Bait and Tackle won over Holman Supply 10-5.
