Quality wins on walk-off home run

MOULTRIE — Austin Hunnicutt hit a two-run, walk-off home run to cap a five-run bottom of the fifth inning, giving Quality Employment a 12-11 Midget League victory over Southwest Georgia Bank on Tuesday at the Magnolia Complex.

Winning pitcher Clayton Brown was the beneficiary of the rally and Hunnicutt’s homer.

Brown himself chipped in a pair of hits, including a home run. Hunnicutt had a single to go with his home run and Kyle Ashley also homered for Quality Employment, which raised its record to 5-4.

Andy Bush had three hits, Ryan Pipkin had two and Colby Reneker had a home run for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 2-6-1.

In Tuesday’s other Midget League game, Preston Berry had two hits, including a home run, to lead Mobley Plant to a 9-0 victory over Davis Insurance.

Hunter Lott got the win on the mound and Justin Wilkerson had two hits for Mobley Plant, now 6-1-2.

O’Shay Williams had two hits for Davis Insurance, now 3-6.

Two Farm Leaguers hit home runs over the fence on Tuesday night.

Kodi Bishop went 3-for-3 with a homer in Rocky’s 15-5 victory over McAlpin Signs.

Morgan Hart and Tyler Pifer also had three hits and Brandon Robinson and Landon Price added two each for Rocky’s, which raised its record to 7-2.

Noah Moore and Griffin Rigsby each had three hits and Cody Mullis and Austin Singletary each had two for McAlpin Signs, also 7-2.

Demetrius Walker went 3-for-3 with a home run to lead Random Design to a 12-2 win over Ameris.

Javon Parten also had three hits and Austin McCord, Devin Flinchum and Jonathan Soverio had two hits each for Random Design, which raised its record to 6-3.

Owen Harrell, Joseph Withrow, Walter Weeks and Hayden Suggs each had two for Ameris, now 2-7.

Lazarus raised its Farm League record to 7-2 with a 9-1 victory over Wendy’s on Tuesday.

Kevin Hall and Codi Noble each had three hits and Taylor Willis and Cameron Vereen each had two for Lazarus.

Robert Clark had two hits for Wendy’s 3-5-1.

In Tuesday’s Pony League action, Aubrey McCarty had two hits, including a home run, to help pitcher Jimmy Skeen get the win in VFW’s 6-5 victory over Southwest Georgia Bank.

Skeen, Dillon Presley and Bryce Giddens also had two hits for VFW, now 7-3.

Meagan May had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank.

In Tuesday’s other Pony League game, Quality Employment blanked Ameris 11-0.

Matt Creech and Landon Rehberg each had three hits and Vann Pitts and Zac Wheeler each had two as Austin Dykes picked up the win on the mound for Quality Employment, now 8-0.

Andrew Carlton had two hits for Ameris.

In Tuesday’s Tiny Mites, Mattco defeated Mobley Plant 9-5 and MPrints won over Holman Supply 12-2.
