Creech, Dykes lead Quality Employment

MOULTRIE — Matt Creech homered and Austin Dykes got the win on the mound as Quality Employment defeated Southwest Georgia Bank 5-1 on Thursday in a Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department Pony League baseball game at the Magnolia Complex.
The victory keeps Quality Employment’s record perfect at 8-0. Southwest Georgia Bank falls to 3-5.
In Thursday’s other Pony League game, Jimmy Skeen pitched shutout baseball and Bryce Giddens, Aubrey McCarty and Brett Smith each contributed two hits as VFW blanked Clements Pools 10-0.
VFW raised its record to 5-3 with the win. Clements Pools falls to 2-6.
Mack Hathcock was outstanding on the mound and at the plate in leading Harper-McCall to a 13-3 Midget League victory over Quality Employment on Thursday.
Hathcock was the winning pitcher and had two hits, including a home run in the victory. Warren Funderburk also had two hits for Harper-McCall, now 7-0-1.
Clayton Brown homered and Austin Hunnicutt had two hits for Quality Employment, now 4-4.
Ameris raised its Midget League record to 7-1 with a 13-8 victory over Davis Insurance on Thursday.
Gabe Mobley was the winning pitcher and had a home run among his two hits. Jay Tolbert and Daniel Mobley each had three hits for Ameris.
Ryan Chatman, Wade Hawes and William Bell each had two hits for Davis Insurance, now 3-5.
McAlpin Signs hit the ball well in Farm League play on Thursday, defeating Random Design 13-3.
Geoffrey Zeigler had three hits and Billy Wayne Smith, Robert Taylor, Wesley Singletary, Noah Moore and Austin Singletary each had two for McAlpin Signs, which raised its record to 7-1.
Griffin Simmons, Jacob Coots and Demetrius Walker each had two for Random Design, which falls to 5-3.
Wendy’s edged Farm Bureau 7-6 in Thursday’s other Farm League game.
Matthew Jordan, Jonathan Jenkins and Chaz Smith each had two hits for Wendy’s, which raised its record to 3-4-1.
Lane Goodroe, Jamie Hurst and Baylie Tindell each had two for Farm Bureau, now 1-7.
In Thursday’s Tiny Mites, Southwest Georgia Bank won over Larry’s Bait and Tackle 11-3, and Mattco defeated Holman Supply 14-4.
