Random Design deals Lazarus first loss

MOULTRIE — Javon Parten and Demetrius Walker each had three hits to help Random Design deal Lazarus its first Farm League loss of the season on Monday at the Magnolia Complex.

Also in Random Design’s 15-14 victory, Griffin Simmons, Tristan Wells, Austin McCord, Arden Hall and Devin Finchum each had two hits.

Random Design is now 5-2.

Houston Massey, Kevin Hall and Jacob Lynch each had three hits and Codi Noble had an over-the-fence home run among his two hits for Lazarus. Taylor Willis, Alex Merritt and Zane Hogan also had two hits each for Lazarus, now 6-1.

In Monday’s other Farm League game, Rocky’s blasted Farm Bureau 16-3.

Chandler Grimes had four hits; Morgan Hart, Kodi Bishop and Anthony Bryant had three; and Tyler Pifer, Brandon Robinson and Gavin Phillips each had two for Rocky’s, which raised its record to 5-2.

Lane Goodroe and Garron Norman each had two hits for Farm Bureau, 1-6.

Quality Employment and Davis Insurance each took 3-3 records into their Midget League game on Monday and it was Quality Employment that came out with the winning record.

Kyle Ashley was the winning pitcher and had three hits, as did Hudson May. Clayton Brown had a home run among his two hits. Hart Sumner, Alex Johnson and Tyler Bannister also had two hits for Quality Employment.

Wade Hawes, O’Shay Williams and William Bell had two for Davis Insurance.

Harper-McCall edged Southwest Georgia Insurance 3-2 in Monday’s other Midget League game.

Warren Funderburk picked up the win and Jacob Flinchum went 3-for-3.

John Gray had a home run among his two hits and Mack Hathcock also had two hits for Harper-McCall, now 6-0-1.

VFW climbed above the .500 mark in Pony League play on Monday, defeating Ameris 14-5.

Bryce Giddens had three hits and winning pitcher Dillon Presley, Corey Moore and Drew Marchant each had two for VFW, now 4-3. Ameris falls to 5-2.

In the other Pony League game on Monday, Southwest Georgia Bank edged Edwards Motors 14-13.

Meagan May and Blake Bennett did the pitching for Southwest Georgia Bank with May getting the win.

Cody Carr had three hits and May and Tyler Yost each had two for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 3-4.

Daren Kent had three hits and Cameron Matthews, Stephen Bullard and Jonathan Gay each had two for Edwards Motors.

In Monday’s Tiny Mite action, Mobley Plant defeated Holman Supply 11-1 and MPrints edged Baell Mercantile 15-1.
