Lazarus, McAlpin still unbeaten

MOULRIE — McAlpin Signs and Lazarus remain unbeaten in the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation’s Department’s Farm League after one-sided victories on Monday at the Magnolia Complex.

Lazarus defeated Ameris 14-2 to raise its record to 5-0.

Kevin Hall had three hits and Chason Fannin, Gabe Parker, Houston Massey, Taylor Willis, Zane Hogan and Cameron Vereen each had two hits for Lazarus.

Jermon Christy had two hits for Ameris, now 1-4.

McAlpin Signs also is 5-0 after it defeated Farm Bureau 15-1 on Monday.

Geoffrey Zeigler, Wesley Singletary, Noah Moore, Austin Singletary and Aaron Johnson each had three hits and Cody Mullis had two for McAlpin Signs. Lane Goodroe had two hits for Farm Bureau, now 1-4.

In Midget League play on Monday, Harper-McCall remained undefeated and dealt Ameris its first lose in a 6-3 victory.

Mack Hathcock was the winning pitcher and Jacob Flinchum had three hits, including a home run. John Gray also had two hits for Harper-McCall, now 4-0-1.

Gabe Mobley had two hits for Ameris, now 4-1.

In Monday’s other Midget League game, Mobley Plant remained unbeaten with a 9-3 victory over Quality Employment.

Preston Berry was the winning pitcher and had three hits.

Tristan Frazier, Dalton Dillon and McKenzie Blanchett each had two hits for Mobley Plant, now 3-0-2. Clayton Brown had two hits for Quality Employment, 3-2.

In Pony League play on Monday, VFW hammered Southwest Georgia Bank 14-2.

Corey Moore was the winning pitcher.

Bryce Giddens had three hits and Aubrey McCarty had two, including a home run for VFW. Also for VFW, Dillon Presley, Brett Smith, Drew Marchant and Michael Schwarz each had two its.

Matt Gerald was the winning pitcher in Ameris’ 12-4 victory over Clements Pools.

Gerald, Alex Littleton, Skyler Lindsey, Andrew Eunice and Brad Carroll each had two hits for Ameris.

One of Lindsey’s hits was a home run.Roy Fuentes, Zack Saunders and Joseph Ford each had two hits for Clements Pools, 1-4.

In Tiny Mites on Monday, Baell Mercantile defeated Matt co 7-4 and Quality Employment won over Mobley Plant 9-2.
