Diamond Packers fall to Coffee 11-1

MOULTRIE — Colquitt County managed just two hits and dropped an 11-1 six-inning decision to Coffee on Friday in Douglas.
The Trojans, who raised their record to 11-3 overall and 4-0 in Region 1-AAAAA, exploded for six runs in the second inning.
Packers starter John Michael Harrison did not survive the second inning, giving up five earned runs and walking two.
Corey Hancock finished up, going the final 4 2/3, giving up six earned runs. He walked five.
Blake Cato and Jebb Cato had the two Colquitt County hits.
The Packers fall to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in the region.
Ryan Mayo went the distance to get the win and Corey Davis hit his ninth home run of the season for Coffee.
Colquitt County will be home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to meet Lowndes.
Also on Friday, Valdosta raised its region record to 5-0 with a 4-1 victory over Tift County. The Blue Devils fall to 2-2.
At Noel George Field, Lowndes got its first region win after three straight losses, defeating Warner Robins 14-7. The Demons are now 2-3.
