Wingfield, Osby first in track meet

MOULTRIE — Colquitt County High’s Lawhe Wingfield and Alonzo Osby took first place finishes in track meet at Lowndes on Tuesday that also included Lowndes and Cook.

Wingfield was first in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet even.

Osby took the gold medal in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.

Also competing for Colquitt County were:

Tevin King, fifth in the triple jump, 39-1; sixth in long jump, 18-10.

Gary Thomas, sixth in the discus, 100 feet, 6 inches.

Denzel Hunt, third in shot put, 40 feet, 8 inches.

Kenneth Gee, second in 300 hurdles, 43.18; fourth in 110 hurdles, 17 flat.

Carlos Charles, second in 3,200, 11.24; third in 800 meters, 2:17.

Craig Dabdoub, third in 3,200, 11:37; fourth, 1,600 meters, 5.22.

Joe Strickland, sixth in 3,200, 12:11.

Diamonte Ridley, fourth in 400 meters, personal best 53.38.

Dominique Hunt, fith in 400, 54.5.

Derrell Ward, eighth, 100 meters, 11.73.

Travon Littleton, second, 100 meters, 11.15.

James Taylor, fourth, 100 meters, 11.2; second, 200 meters, 22.9.

Ricky Williams, third, 200 meters, 23.42.

Jonathan Cauthen, second, 1,600 meters, personal best 5:09.

Heath Lamb, third, 1,600 meters, 5:12.

The 4×100 relay team of Ricky Williams, Diamonte Ridley, Alonzo Osby and Derrell Ward was third with a 45.7.
