Homers lead Harper-McCall win

MOULTRIE — Mack Hathcock and John Gray hit home runs to lead the Harper-McCall Midget League baseball team to an 11-4 victory over Quality Employment on Tuesday at the Magnolia Complex in the season-opener for both teams.

Hathcock also was the winning pitcher and Gray added another base hit to his home run.

Garrett May and Clayton Brown each had two hits for Quality Employment.

In Tuesday’s other Midget League game, Southest Georgia Insurance defeated Market Barbecue 11-5.

Hunter Kimbrell got the win and Caleb Jarosh, Jim Waldrop and Charlie Zeanah each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance.

Adam Merritt had two base hits for Market Barbecue.

In a Monday Midget League game, Ameris routed Davis Insurance 11-1.

Drew Penuel was the winning pitcher. Gabe Mobley and Maleek Lewis each had two hits for Ameris.

In Tuesday’s Tiny Mite league action, MPrints defeated Mobley Plant 10-2 and Larry’s Bait and Tackle edged Mattco 11-8.

Tuesday’s Pony League schedule featured a pair of 7-6 games.

Ameris defeated VFW 7-6 with Skyler Lindsey getting the win and Alex Littleton chipping in a pair of hits.

Clements Pools defeated Edwards Motors 7-6 in Tuesday’s other Midget League game.

Mitchell Hawes was the winning pitcher.

Daren Kent had two hits for Edwards Motors.

There were a pair of shutouts in Tuesday’s Farm League action.

Lazarus won over Zaxby’s 10-0.

Chase Fannin and Houston Massey had three hits and Jacob Lynch two for Lazarus.

McAlpin Signs blanked Wendy’s 10-0.

Geoffrey Zeigler had three hits and Wesley Singletary, Cody Mullis, Zack Goodwin and Aaron Johnson each had two for McAlpin Signs. Savonta Slaughter had two for Wendy’s

Custom Cabinets got two hits each from Kevin Snyder and George Zeanah in its 12-1 win over Ameris.

Ian Brinson had two hits for Ameris.

Random Design edged Rocky’s 7-6.

Devin Flinchum, Tristan Wells, Arden Hall, Demetrius Walker, Jonathan Soverio and Colby Camp each had two hits for Random Design.

Tyler Pifer had three hits and Brandon Robinson had two hits for Rocky’s.
