MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County junior varsity baseball team swept a doubleheader at Americus-Sumter County on Saturday.

The two victories raise the team’s record to 7-2.

Russ DeMott pitched the first game and give up three hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Mark Lindsey led the Packers offensively with three hits. Scotty Green and Chris Phillips each had two.

DeMott, Davis Durham, McClellan Mobley and Ryan Ward had the other hits.

Phillips pitched the second game, giving up two hits and striking out eight while not walking a batter.

DeMott and Blake Stamps each had two hits. Phillips, Durham, Mobley, Ryan Sherling and Andrew Clark each had one hit.

The junior varsity Packers will travel to Valdosta for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
