JV baseball team beats TCC

MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County junior varsity baseball team went to Thomasville on Monday and banged out 16 hits in a 10-7 victory over Thomas County Central.

Davis Durham and Payne Newsome did the pitching.

McClellan Mobley led the Packers with three hits.

Durham, Russ DeMott, Chris Phillips and Alex Tillman each had two hits.

Newsome, Zac Goodno, Alex Clark, Ryan Sherling and Ryan Ward each had one hit.

“We made the plays, we ran the bases well and we hit the ball,” Coach Greg Tillery said.

The JV Packers are now 5-2 and will travel to Americus-Sumter County on Saturday for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.

The 2-2 Colquitt County ninth-grade baseball team will meet Thomas County Central at 5 p.m. today at Ike Aultman Field at Packer Park. The freshmen will travel to meet Thomas County Central at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 17.
