MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County ninth-grade baseball team opened its season on Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of Valdosta at Ike Aultman Field at Packer Park.

Tyler Brown went the distance and got the win in the 11-0 first-game victory.

Colquitt won the second game 14-6 with Taylor Barber, Daylon Connell and Shelton Lott doing the pitching.

The ninth-graders will be off until next Saturday when they travel to Leesburg for noon doubleheader against Lee County

The next home game will be on Tuesday, March 11, against Thomas Central.
