MOULTRIE — A department store was robbed Monday night when a thief grabbed cash from a register.
A cashier at Roses Department Store on Sixth Street Southeast stated she was ringing up a purchase for three customers at 8:36 p.m. Monday. As she was ringing up the items, a white male reached over one of the customers and into the register.
The thief stole about $400, all in $20 bills, from the register. As he grabbed the money, he pushed the cashier’s hand into the register, breaking a spring off of the register, before he ran from the store.
Officers were able to review the store’s security video footage and saw the thief enter the store, steal the money and flee. He was described as a white male about 6 feet tall with tattoos covering both of his arms.
