George Samuel “Sam” Croft
MOULTRIE — George Samuel “Sam” Croft, 61, of Berlin died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Stephen Westberry, Trampas Alderman, Taran Alderman, Sean Ladson, Max Ladson and Jeremy Merritt serving as pallbearers.
Born Sept. 23, 1945, he was the son of George Croft of Berlin and the late Nerine Sally Dampier Croft. He was the assistant foreman of manufacturing at Wells Aluminum.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Croft.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Erlene Young Croft; sons, Dion Croft and wife Holly of Moultrie, Dain Croft and wife Rachael of Cordele, Ga., and Dalon Croft and wife Joy of Moultrie; a daughter, Detra Gomez and husband Lilo of Cordele, Ga.; a sister, Kay Alderman and husband Bobby of Berlin; and grandchildren, Hannah, Graycen, Landon, Trevor, Jaylin, Morgan, Stefen and Corey Croft, Alexander Vega and Nick Gomez.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.

Grady Edward McEver
MOULTRIE — Grady Edward McEver, 85, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be Maurice Jordan, Danny Jordan, David McEver, Larry McEver, Gary Pitts, Jamie Pitts, Robbie Pitts and Craig Pitts.
Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Oscar Grady McEver and Samantha Mashburn McEver. He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of the VFW, was a retired truck driver with Coats and Clark and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda M. Washington.
Survivors include his daughters, Nell Allen, Vicky Dixon and husband Bob, and Terri Tomlinson, all of Moultrie; a brother, Ray McEver of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Marsha Graham, Rhonda Morey, Mac Allen, Amy Beverly, Amber Willis, Samantha Tomlinson, Carolann Holloway and Bobby Dixon; and 14 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Cory, Bruce and Anthony Graham, Amber, Julia, Adrianne and Adam Beverly, Katie and Keri Morey, Skylar and Alex Allen, Nikki and Jeffory Holloway.
The family will receive friends today, Sept. 4, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel and may be contacted at the home of Vicky and Bob Dixon, Old Doerun Road in Moultrie.
