Jazmyn Marcianna Sims

ADEL, Ga. — Jazmyn Marcianna Sims, infant, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Adel Memorial Hospital in Adel, Ga.

Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Morning Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Norman Park with the Rev. Clayton Sims officiating.

She was born to Joseph Keith Fender of Moultrie and Annie Sims of Adel, Ga.

Survivors include a brother, Cody Alex Fender of Fairview, Tenn.; two grandmothers, Christian Wynn of Adel, Ga., and Shawn Fender of Moultrie; two grandfathers, Willie C. Sims Jr. of Norman Park and Joseph Fender of Chula, Ga.; three aunts; two uncles; and a host of cousins and other relatives.

Aaron Dexter Edwards

MOULTRIE — Aaron Dexter Edwards, 37, of Moultrie died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Luke officiating and the Rev. Rufus Jolly assisting. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2 with Thad Brown, Albert Scott and nephews serving as pallbearers.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1970, in Moultrie to the late James Culbreath and the late Miriam Patillo Edwards.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Marshall K. Edwards.

Survivors include a son, Jontavious R. Edwards of Moultrie; three brothers, Willie Kinchen, Vinson Edwards and William Kinchen and wife Denise, all of Moultrie; three sisters, Vernita Edwards, Shirley Williams and Sylinda Edwards, all of Moultrie; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel.

Helen Laverne Daniels

MOULTRIE — Helen Laverne Daniels, 44, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alfred Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2 with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

She was born on June 18, 1963, to the late Floyd Daniels and the late Grace Thomas of Moultrie.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Regina Thomas; and a dear friend, Shirley Thornton.

Survivors include three sons, Kanasky Daniels of Sylvester, Ga., Eric Brown of Tifton, Ga., and Kebrisky Daniels of Moultrie; two daughters, Kakerisa Daniels and Keshemonia Daniels, both of Moultrie; a brother, Nichloshun Henry of Moultrie; four sisters, Shelia Daniels of Lakeland, Fla., Sandra Daniels, Mary Henry and Vanessa Waters, all of Moultrie; a dear friend, Edward Little; eight grandchildren; three special friends, Tamika Madison, Alma Smith and Alice Grier, all of Moultrie; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lynn Sue Bever Jefferson

MOULTRIE — Lynn Sue Bever Jefferson, 64, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Winston Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Ground Cemetery in Morven. Casketbearers will be Michael Stone, Woody Jackson, Gary Ward, Danny Bryant, Pat Allegood and David Sinclair.

Born April 21, 1943, in Fountain County, Ind., she was the daughter of Izetta Rhodenbaugh Peacock and the late Buck Bever. She was a member of First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.V. Jefferson, and a brother, James L. Bever.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Jefferson Stone and husband David of Moultrie; an adopted daughter, Cynthia Carter of Moultrie; her mother of Moultrie; a brother, Carol Bever of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Sumrall of Leaf, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Rabecca Stone, Samantha Stone, David Stone Jr., Frances Stone, Thomas Allegood, Dylon Allegood, Mitchell Carter and Brandon Carter.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Gene Bullard Hughes

AUBURN, Ala. — Gene Bullard Hughes, 78, of Auburn, Ala., died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel in Opelika, Ala., with the Rev. John Dale Rector officiating. Burial will follow in Town Creek Cemetery.

She was a school teacher in her early years and taught many years in Moultrie and Tifton. She was a graduate of West Georgia College and Georgia Teachers College. She was a lover of sports and played basketball and softball in school and softball as an adult. She was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church for 33 years, was manager of the church kitchen in its original location, was past substitute teacher in the Auburn City School System and was an avid Auburn University sports fan.

She was preceded in death by brother, Frank Bullard; and sisters, Jane Bullard Logan, Martha Chloe Bullard and Hazel Bullard.

Survivors include her husband, Jerrell E. Hughes; two sons, Michael E. Hughes and wife Sharon of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Douglas F. Hughes and wife Leigh of McDonough, Ga.; grandchildren, Laura and Kelly Hughes of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Hadleigh and Sawyer Hughes of McDonough, Ga.; brothers, W.W. Bullard Jr. and wife Betty and Fred Bullard and wife Marian, both of Mitchell County, Ga., Walter Bullard and wife Lilly Mae of Sale City, Harold Bullard of Leesburg, Ga., and Louie Bullard and wife Bobbie of Macon, Ga.; and a sister, Hilda Murphy of Americus, Ga.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
