MOULTRIE — Helen Laverne Daniels, 44, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

MOULTRIE — Aaron Dexter Edwards, 37, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

Frank W. Saunders
AMERICUS, Ga. — Frank W. Saunders, 79, of Americus, Ga., died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with David Jordan, Bryan Rooks, James Harper, William Reid, Ronnie Dupree and Al Johnson serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers are the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class.
He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Sumter County to the late Charles W. Saunders and Clarice Duke Saunders. He retired from Champion Manufacturing Company in 1990, formerly of Plains, Ga. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1948 and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Williams and Eileen Greene; and a brother, Joe Saunders.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne Cheek Saunders of Americus; two sons, Phil Saunders and wife Mary of Moultrie and Rodney Saunders and wife Shelia of Peachtree City, Ga.; a sister, Eloise Tallent of Americus; brother, Donald Saunders and wife Norma of Fayetteville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Carrie Saunders, Betsy Milam and husband Dan, John Saunders and wife Shanna, Holly Saunders and Kyle Saunders; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the family residence at 1216 U.S. 19 North in Americus.
