MOULTRIE — Tom Huntley, 94, of Moultrie died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Luke Strong and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.



Ashley Morgan Bennett

MOULTRIE — Ashley Morgan Bennett, 6-week-old daughter of Keshia Brown Bennett and Tracy Bennett of Moultrie, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the Medical University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Mr. Ronald Davis officiating.

She was born June 13, 2007 in Moultrie.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gary and Carolyn Bennett.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a brother, Tracy Gary Bennett Jr. of Moultrie; a sister, Savannah Jordan Bennett of Moultrie; and her maternal grandparents, Joudie and Carol Brown of Moultrie.

The family received friends Monday, July 30, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Perry Morgan Mullis

MOULTRIE — Perry Morgan Mullis, 89, of Moultrie, died Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Brownwood Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hale Bishop and the Rev. Larry Bird officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Robbie Costin, Jimmy Taylor, Steve Godwin, Max Hancock, Dick Aycock, Grover Reeves, Darrell Strange and Floyd Faison. Honorary casketbearers will be members of the Neille McDonald Sunday School Class and the Honest Eaters Club.

Born April 24, 1918, in Lowndes County, he was the son of the late Frank Stewart Mullis and Nellie Geiger Mullis. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the 7th Major Port Company Transportation Corps during the European invasion in England, Scotland and Ireland, and later in the Pacific Theater in Japan, at the time of invasion and occupation. He was associated with General Hardware Co. of Atlanta for many years and then worked for the City of Moultrie as nursery supervisor under the late Jim Buck Goff, former director of Parks and Recreation Division. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir, was Sunday school song leader and served on the Board of Stewards. He was also a member of the Elks Club, the V.F.W. and was an active member of Sunset Country Club.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Roscoe Mullis and Franklin Stewart Mullis; and two sisters, Ida Mae Draffin and Marion Hollis.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Talton Mullis of Moultrie; one son, William M. Mullis and wife Kandy of Dallas, Ga.; two daughters, Margie Ann Rabon and husband Dr. James R. Rabon of Whiteville, N.C., and Lynn Mullis of Moultrie; a sister, Jean Carter of Blairsville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
