MOULTRIE — Three Moss Farms divers have qualified for the National Junior Diving Championship after the first two days of the Summer East Championships being held in Rockville, Md.
The top-12 finishers at both the East and West championships qualify for Junior Nationals, which will be held Aug. 7-11 in Mission Viejo, Calif.
On Thursday, Elizabeth Ann Kirkland finished 12th in the 13-and-under girls 3-meter springboard competition. On Friday, she fared even better on the 3-meter board, turning in a 10th-place finish.
Ann Perry Blank also has qualified for Junior Nationals on both springboards.
Diving in the 14-15 girls age group, Blank finished third on the 1-meter board on Thursday.
On Friday, she turned in a 10th-place finish on the 3-meter springboard.
Also on Friday, Moss Farms diver Anna Aguero finished eighth in the platform event to qualify for Mission Viejo.
Ali Lepech, Aguero’s Moss Farms teammate, just missed qualifying on tower, finishing 13th, less than two points behind the 12th-place finisher.
Along with Aguero and Lepech, Moss Farms divers Hannah Moore, Kelsey Goodman and Ryan Helms will try to qualify on the springboards over the next two days.
