MOULTRIE — A Moultrie police officer found a woman lying on a street corner Saturday. Police reports said the woman possibly had been raped.

The officer found the woman at the corner of Fifth Avenue and South Main Street at 12:44 a.m. Saturday. She stated she was walking home on First Street Southwest when she heard a man yell to her that he wanted to have sex with her, police reports stated.

The woman stated that was the last thing she remembered happening before the officer came and woke her up. She stated she had three drinks prior to the incident but had not done any drugs. Colquitt County Emergency Medical Technicians arrived at the scene and took the woman to Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

While at the hospital, a rape kit was performed, and she began to give some details as she was able to remember them, the report stated. She said she believed that she and the man did have intercourse together before she passed out. She described the assailant as a black male, about 6-foot, 4-inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
