MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County High baseball team will begin the postseason with a 4 p.m. Friday doubleheader against Newnan in Newnan.

If the teams split, the third game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Packers are the No. 3 team from Region 1-AAAAA. Newnan finished No. 2 in Region 4.

The winner of the series will advance to the second round to meet the winner of the Redan-Johnson of Savannah series.

The second-round series in Class AAAAA playoffs are scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 16.

Also in the first round, Mundy’s Mill will travel to play Region 1 champion Lowndes, Valdosta will go to East Coweta and Hiram will travel to Coffee.
