Mobley Plant wins with homers

MOULTRIE — Aubrey McCarty and Austin Mercer hit home runs to lead Mobley Plant to an 8-3 victory over Davis Insurance on Tuesday in a Midget League game at the Magnolia Sports Complex.

Weston Cox was the winning pitcher and McCarty, Mercer and Anderson Glenn each had two hits for Mobley Plant, which raised its record to 6-3.

Daren Kent went 3-for-3 and O’Shay Williams had two hits for Davis Insurance, now 4-5.

Mack Hathcock was 4-for-4 and went the distance on the mound to lead Harper-McCall to a 4-3 Midget League victory over Southwest Georgia Insurance on Tuesday.

Jacob Flinchum had three hits and Tyler Key added two for Harper-McCall, now 4-5. Alex Pate had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance, 6-3.

In Tuesday’s other Midget League game, Quality Employment scored in the seventh inning to deal Zaxby’s a 7-6 defeat.

Nathan Webb and Cody Carr pitched and Webb and Zack Saunders each had three hits for Quality Employment, which raised its record to 3-6.

Jay Tolbert had three hits and Drew Penuel and Daniel Mobley had two each for Zaxby’s, now 5-4.

Tuesday’s Farm League schedule featured a pair of one-sided games.

Farm Bureau pounded Random Design 12-2 with Ryan Wallace getting three hits and Austin Lassetter, Hart Sumner, Nick Nicholas, Davis Howell and Pax Newsome each chipping in two hits. Farm Bureau is now 5-2-1.

Cody Jenkins had two hits for Random Designs, now 3-5.

Beau Dalton and Hunter Kimble each had three hits to lead Wendy’s to a 13-3 victory over Rocky’s.

Tristan Frazier, Timothy Clay, Christopher Bullard and Andy Meeks each had two hits for Wendy’s, now 6-1-1.

Tyler Pifer and Parker Hoes each had two hits for Rocky’s, 1-7.

In Tiny Mites, Baell Mercantile won over Pizza Inn 16-8 and Rocky’s edged Mprints 7-6.
