Brown leads Ameris to victory

MOULTRIE — Tyler Brown went the distance on the mound and hit a pair of homers, one of which was with the bases loaded, to lead Ameris to an 8-1 Pony League victory over Southwest Georgia Bank on Monday at the Magnolia Complex.

Garrett Brewer had three hits, including a home run and Blake Jenkins added two more hits as Ameris raised its record to 2-2.

Zachary Goodno had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 1-3.

In Monday’s other Pony League game, Quality Employment raised its record to 4-0 with an 8-1 victory over VFW.

Cole Pitts was the winning pitcher.

Vann Pitts and Zac Wheeler each had two hits for Quality Employment. Hayden Kudela had two hits for VFW, now 1-3.

In Monday’s Midget League action, Mobley Plant defeated Edwards Motors 18-8.

Weston Cox was the winning pitcher and Anderson Glenn, Aubrey McCarty, Ross Goforth and Tyler Cook each had two hits for Mobley Plant, now 3-2.

Drew Wisenbaker and T.J. Robertson each had two hits for Edwards Motors, now 0-5.

Andrew Carlton was the winning pitcher and Eric Gould had three hits as Southwest Georgia Bank defeated Southwest Georgia Insurance 10-5 in Monday’s other Midget League game.

Carlton, Colby Reneker and Nicholas Crawley each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Bank, now 3-2.

Dillon Frazier, Coleman Neal and Preston Berry each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance, now 3-2.

In Farm League play on Monday, Custom Cabinets remained undefeated after its 10-1 victory over Southwest Georgia Bank.

Adam Merritt had three hits and Jared Soyke, Shawn Bonner, George Zeanah and Kyle Duke each had two hits for Custom Cabinets, which raised its record to 4-0.

Southwest Georgia Bank falls to 0-4.

In Monday’s other Farm League game, Farm Bureau defeated McAlpin Signs 8-2.

Nick Nichols had three hits and Austin Lasseter, Davis Howell, Hart Sumner, Max Carr and Peyton Payne each had two for Farm Bureau, now 3-1.

Cody Mullis, Taylor Horne and Dylan Howard each ahd two for McAlpin Signs, now 0-5.

In Monday’s Tiny Mite action, Larry’s Baitand Tackle won over Mobley Plant 15-2 and Mprints defeated Quality Employment 9-7.
