VFW defeats Clements

MOULTRIE — Hayden Kudela went the distance on the mound and Bryce Giddens had three hits as VFW defeated Clements Pools 8-7 on Thursday at the Magnolia Complex to earn its first Pony League victory of the season.

Christopher Johnson and Drew Marchant each had two hits for VFW, now 1-2.

Joseph Ford had two hits for Clements Pools, now 2-2.

In Thursday’s other Pony League game, Cole Pitts was the winning pitcher and had a home run among his two hits as Quality Employment blasted Ameris 13-1.

Mark Lindsey and Zac Wheeler each had three hits and Vann Pitts, Matt Creech and Matt Lindsey also had two hits for Quality Employment, now 3-0.

Ameris falls to 1-2.

In Thursday’s Midget League action, Daren Kent, O’Shay Williams, Cason Wells and Wade Hawes combined to pitch Davis Insurance to a 6-4 victory over Zaxby’s.

Wells, Williams and Kent also had three hits each for Davis Insurance, now 3-1.

Jay Tolbert and Drew Penuel each had two hits for Zaxby’s, now 3-1.

Dillon Frazier went the distance on the mound as Southwest Georgia Insurance shut out Edwards Motors 8-0 on Thursday in another Midget League game.

Clay Carter and Caleb Jarosh each had two hits for Southwest Georgia Insurance, which raised its record to 3-1.

Edwards Motors falls to 0-4.

Also in the Midget League on Thursday, Ameris defeated Mobley Plant 7-3.

Matt Gerald was the winning pitcher for Ameris, now 3-1. Mobley Plant falls to 2-2.

In Farm League games on Thursday, Lazarus remained undefeated with an 18-5 victory over Rocky’s.

Houston Massey, Kendrick Barton and Braden Flinchum each had three hits and Dontae Barfield, J.J. Johnson, Kevin Hall and John Baker each added two hits for Lazarus, now 4-0.

Kodi Bishop and Parker Hoes each had two hits for Rocky’s, now 1-3.

In Thursday’s other Farm League contest, Farm Bureau defeated Southwest Georgia Bank 4-1.

Austin Lasseter had two hits for Farm Bureau, now 2-1. Southwest Georgia Bank falls to 0-3.

In Thursday’s Tiny Mite games, Pizza inn defeated Mobley Plant 10-3 and Larry’s Bait and Tackle won over Mprints 10-2.
