Andrew Newsome

MOULTRIE — Andrew Newsome, 53, of Moultrie died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Brownwood Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Shane Ashley and the Rev. Dewayne Newsome officiating.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Julia Sanster Newsome.

Survivors include his father, B.S. “Buck” Newsome of Moultrie; his stepmother, Mary Evelyn Newsome; sons, Mike Newsome and wife Sala of Norman Park and Tony Newsome and wife Missy of Leesburg, Ga.; brothers, Lee Newsome and wife Michelle of Moultrie and Gerald Newsome and wife Pam of Moultrie; grandchildren, Pax Newsome, Jon Cone, Lilly Newsome, McClane Newsome and Larson Newsome all of Moultrie.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Shedrick Omar Bonner

MOULTRIE — Shedrick Omar Bonner, 19, died Friday, March 16, 2007.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Rev. E.H. Hopkins officiating and the Rev. Corey McGee and the Rev. John Swan Jr. assisting. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 1 with Tommy Bonner, Anthony Bonner Sr., Charles Bonner, Ronald Bonner, Alex Hall and Thaddeus Brown serving as pallbearers.

He was born Jan. 28, 1988, in Moultrie to Ricky Bonner Sr. and Charlotte Brown.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Brown Jr.; grandmother, Doris Brown; and a great-grandmother, Azzie Hill.

Survivors include his father, Ricky Bonner Sr. of Moultrie; his mother, Charlotte Brown of Moultrie; three brothers, Antonio Brown, Lavinsky Carter and Ricky Bonner Jr., all of Moultrie; a sister, Artevia Brown of Moultrie; grandmother, Clementine Bonner of Doerun; grandfather, Lee Bonner of Doerun; a great-grandmother, Grace Bonner of Moultrie; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Kiayana James, Marquis Johnson and Tavious Lawson, all of Moultrie.

The family will receive friends and family at the home of Charlotte Brown, 624 Second St. N.W. in Moultrie.

LaRae Whittington Mooney Edwards

THOMASVILLE — LaRae Whittington Mooney Edwards, 69, of Thomasville, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Archbold Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. Verlyn Brock, Wayne Lee, Ollie Hortman, Preston Horne, Jimmy Butler and Buddy Allen will serve as casketbearers. Members of Moultrie High School Class of 1955 will serve as honorary casketbearers.

Born Aug. 18, 1937, in Polk County, Fla., Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of Emily Whittington and the late Thomas Whittington. She was a retired medical transcriptionist with Colquitt Regional Medical Center and Archbold Medical Center. She was a 1955 graduate of Moultrie High School and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James O’Dean Mooney.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Cleburne Edwards of Thomasville; her mother, Emily Whittington of Lawrenceville; three sons, Michael Dean Mooney and wife Tracy of Gainesville, Van Alan Mooney and wife Tammy of Largo, Fla. and Kenneth Wayne Mooney and wife Janell of Cary, N.C.; three daughters, Elizabeth LaRae Ringheisen of Largo, Fla., Tammi Edwards Maness and husband Keith of Dacula, and Terrie Edwards Fordham and husband Glen of Gainesville; a brother, Van Thomas Whittington of Lawrenceville; and 15 grandchildren, Marty Ringheisen, Caitlin Ringheisen, Rachel Mooney, Stephanie Mooney, Jacob Mooney, Benjamin Mooney, Emma Mooney, Jason Mooney, Nicholas Mooney, Marc Custer, Allison Custer, Courtney Fordham, Justin Fordham, Haley Maness and Cole Maness.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church.

MOULTRIE — Eulala Hunnicutt Smith, 90, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Center.
