Billy Dunlap

MOULTRIE — Billy Dunlap, 74, of Pineview Avenue in Moultrie, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Barrett and the Rev. Andy Cashwell will officiate. Casketbearers will be J.A. Norman, Gene Brock, Earl Roberson, Winfred Giddens, Leroy Matthews and Darrell Coley.

Mr. Dunlap was born July 16, 1932, the son of the late F.E. Dunlap and the late Adelle Hicks Dunlap. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Colquitt EMC after 40 years with the company. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Tyson Dunlap of Moultrie; a daughter, Cindy McQueen of Moultrie; brothers, J.E. Dunlap and wife Jean of Ashburn and Cecil Dunlap and wife Evelyn of Alma; sisters, Tiny Jean Tillman and husband Ronald of Adel and Mae Dell Folsom of Norman Park; and grandchildren, Jason McQueen and Zack McQueen of Moultrie.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Dunlap; and three sisters, Carrie Baker, Orene Lawson and Louise Lee.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at Baker Funeral Home.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Hoke Eugene Lashley

MOULTRIE — Hoke Eugene Lashley, age 77, of Moultrie, died at his residence Friday, Dec. 29, 2006.

John Richard Parmeter

DOERUN — John Richard Parmeter, 72, of Funston-Doerun Road in Doerun, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Deacon Phillip Walsh officiating. Interment will be later at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Ga.

Mr. Parmeter was born March 8, 1934, in Olean, Cattaragus County, N.Y. A chief in the U.S. Navy, he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired after 22 years of service. He was commander of Doerun American Legion Post 243 and was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harriett E. Anderson and Owen John Parmeter; his wife, Donna Marie Sturtevant Parmeter; and a sister, Joanne Torrey.

Survivors include four sons, John Richard Parmeter Jr. of Doerun, Hobie Michael Parmeter of Douglasville, Christopher Owen Parmeter of Doerun and Patrick James Parmeter of Doerun.
