Ruth Davis Croft
MOULTRIE — Ruth Davis Croft, 95, of Moultrie died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at Woodlands Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 6, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Dee, the Rev. Jimmy Hiers and the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. David Chastain, Joe Chastain, John Chastain, Tim Carlton, Timmy Radney and John Pafford will serve as casketbearers. Jackie Croft, Bill Chastain and Randy Croft will serve as honorary casketbearers.
Born Jan. 26, 1911, in Brooks County, Mrs. Croft was the daughter of the late Delia Easters Davis and the late Henry Davis. She was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jack Croft.
Survivors include four sons, Horace Croft and wife Grace and Louie Croft and wife Darlene, all of Moultrie, Frank Croft and wife Betty of Morven and James Croft and wife Cindy of Adel; two daughters, Beatrice Chastain and Ruth Ann Croft and husband Wallace, all of Moultrie; a brother, Turner Davis and wife Louise of Berlin; a brother-in-law, Douglas Singletary of Valdosta; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Croft of Madison, Fla., and Annie Grace Singletary of Brunswick; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
The family may be contacted at the home of Beatrice Chastain at 509 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Moultrie.

Craig S. Clark
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Craig S. Clark of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, after a long illness.
Per his request, there will not be a viewing service but a gathering of family and friends will be held at a future time.
Survivors include his father, James W. Clark of Moultrie; two sisters, Renee Bozeman and husband James of Moultrie and Rhonda Head and husband Jeff of Starkville, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews, Tori Bozeman, Joey Bozeman, Jamie Bozeman, Zachary Head, Trevor Head and Jared Head.
W.B. “Dub” Welch
PAVO, Ga. — W.B. “Dub” Welch, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, in Colquitt County.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 6 at Salem Cemetery in Thomas County with the Rev. Curtis Eason officiating.
A native of Tallahassee, Fla., Mr. Welch resided in Pavo where he worked as a mechanic on heavy equipment. He was born on Feb. 2, 1924, the son of the late L.D. and Katie Johnson Welch. His wife was the late Dorothy S. Welch.
Three brothers, Luther Welch, Dewey “Dock” Welch and Paul Eugene Welch; and a sister, Emma Lou Bryant, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Mike Welch of Pavo, Ronnie Welch and wife Linda of Ochlocknee and Johnny A. Welch of Macon; a daughter, Mary S. Redfearn of Adel; a brother, J.C. Welch of Fargo; two sisters, Pauline Dixon of Thomasville and Hazel Manning and husband Wendell of Barney. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Samuel Eugene Timmons
SYLVESTER, Ga. — Samuel Eugene Timmons, 57, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, and burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Timmons, who resided in Sylvester, was born in Miami, Fla., on Dec. 20, 1948. He was the son of Dorothy Christine Tadlock Timmons of Sylvester and the late Sam Henry Timmons. He was an employee of the Pet Dairy Corporation and a United States Air Force veteran.
He his survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Timmons of Sylvester.
Visitation will be held following the funeral service.

H.D. Sellers
MOULTRIE — H.D. Sellers, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 8, at graveside at New Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Eason officiating.
Mr. Sellers, a native of Toombs County, was born Nov. 17, 1929, the son of the late Atha Matilda Perdue Sellers and the late Fred Robert Sellers.
A retired machinist at Hubble Die Casting, Mr. Sellers was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Matrah Smith, Wilma Newsome, Marie Sellers and Euphema Sellers; and a brother, Theodore Sellers.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Castleberry Sellers of Moultrie; four daughters, Debbie Sellers Wood of Columbiana, Ala., Thelma Sellers Collins of Harvest, Ala., Ann Sellers Hires of Coolidge and Pam Sellers Fern of Okinawa, Japan; two stepchildren, Angela Summerlin of Moultrie and Rodney Truett of Kaleen, Texas; two brothers, the Rev. James “Shot” Sellers and Hayward Sellers, both of Moultrie; three sisters, Nadine Bryant and Erma Jean Sheffield, both of Moultrie, and Ellen Carlton of Albany; a stepsister, Nadine Lamb of Norman Park; two stepbrothers, Sanford Davis of Norman Park and Lanford Davis of Albany; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
The family has requested that memorials be made to a favorite charity.

Eunice Beecher Jacobs
MOULTRIE — Eunice Beecher Jacobs, 81, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Moultrie.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Spring Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Brinkley and B.D. Carter officiating. Burial followed in Carter Cemetery with Joey Jacobs, Jody Jacobs, Jerry Evers Jr., Ben Campbell, Jerry Beecher and Wayne Hazzard serving as pallbearers. The Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class and deacons and wives of Spring Baptist Church were honorary pallbearers.
Born April 26, 1925, in Appling County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Donie McDaniel Beecher. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Jacobs Sr., and brother, Edice Beecher.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorrie Evers and husband Jerry of Berlin; son, Jesse Jacobs and wife Jeanette of Baxley, Ga.; sisters, Lorene Brown, Carolyn Hazzard, Roberta Williams and Henrietta Campbell; brothers, L.G. Beecher and Harold Beecher; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
