Martha Virginia Cornelius
ALBANY, Ga. — Martha Virginia Cornelius, 87, of Albany, Ga., died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Palmyra Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the chapel of Fellows-Helfenbein-Newman Funeral Home Chestertown, Md. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery.
A native of Kent County, Md., she had lived in Albany, Ga., since 2003 moving from Chestertown, Md. She was retired from International Playtex and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Kent Cornelius, and a son, Fred Cornelius.
Survivors include a son, Dave Cornelius and his wife Patricia of Chestertown, Md.; seven grandchildren, Billy Cornelius and his wife Lorraine, Deana Crosby and Shane Cornelius, all of Sylvester, Ga., Sean Cornelius and his wife Kim of Doerun, Dawn Ford and her husband Jesse of Millington, Mass., David Cornelius of Chestertown, Md., and Keith Cornelius of Moultrie.
The family received friends Tuesday evening at Mathews Funeral Home.

Annelle Sumner Beck Hart
EATONTON, Ga. — Annelle Sumner Beck Hart, 63, of Eatonton, Ga., formerly of Destin, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Ga.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. today, Aug. 24, at Weeks Chapel Cemetery.
Born July 29, 1943, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Brown Sumner and Lucy Estelle Weeks Sumner. She was self-employed as an artist.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Warren Beck Sr. and Stanley “Buzz” Hart; a brother, Elton Sumner; and a granddaughter, Amelia Suzanne Crowe.
Survivors include a son, Walter Beck Jr. and wife Cynthia of Eatonton, Ga.; a daughter, Tina Wilhelmi and husband Kurt of Loganville, Ga.; brothers, Kevin Sumner and wife Barbara of Morven, Ga., and Hilsman Sumner and wife Shirley of Ellenton; a sister, Jarrelle Baker and husband Ronald of Ellenton; five grandchildren, Heather Beck, Jason Beck, Victoria Beck, Preston Sorrows and Adam Crowe; and one great-grandchild, Emilie Crowe.

MOULTRIE — Johnny Twiggs Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

John Wesley Willoughby
MOULTRIE — John Wesley Willoughby, 71, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at John D. Archbold Medical Center of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Emory H. Hopkins officiating assisted by the Rev. Arletha Miller. Burial will follow in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 1 with Ulysses Evans Jr., Ulysses Evan III, Ozzie Johnson, Kareem Washington, Christopher Jordan and Herbert Whaley serving as pallbearers.
Born Sept. 9, 1934, in LaGrange, Ga., he was the son of the late Rev. Earlie Willoughby and the late Emma J. Willoughby. He worked as a security guard for Securitas and also served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Willoughby; and one brother, Jesse E. Willoughby.
He is survived by two sisters, Judith R. Garcia of Moultrie and Gwendolyn Collins of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Earlie Willoughby Jr. and wife Kuniko of Rochester, N.Y.; a daughter, Angela Lewis Shakes of Hartford, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Debbie Willoughby of Rochester, N.Y.; a grandson, Leord O. Shakes of Hartford, Conn.; special friends, Eunice Jordan and family of Moultrie and Lannie Walker of Moultrie; a special cousin, Jarvis Morris of Rochester, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
