Howard Davis Alexander

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. — Howard Davis Alexander, 74, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, in Ocean Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes in Ocean Springs, Miss. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.

He was a longtime resident of the community. He served in the United States Air Force and was a former member of the VFW Post 5699 and the DAV Chapter 17, both in Ocean Springs, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben F. and Ruth Stewart Alexander.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Horne Alexander of Ocean Springs, Miss.; daughters, Charlotte A. Wingate and husband Gettis of Doerun and Renee A. Kuffner and husband Fred of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a son, George H. Alexander of Ocean Springs, Miss.; sisters, Norma A. Varnado and Irma Burns, both of Columbia, Miss., and Texie Smith of Foxsworth, Miss.; brothers, Hugh L. Alexander of Kokomo, Miss., and Earl Alexander of Corsicana, Texas; six grandchildren, Mandy W. Kinsey and husband Kevin of Moultrie, Garrett J. Wingate and wife Brooke of Doerun, Haley A. Fancher and husband Ben of Hattiesburg, Miss., Heath Massey of Ocean Spring, Miss., Chelsey Alexander of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Cody Massey of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and three great-grandchildren, Beckett Fancher, Wynn Kinsey and Garron Wingate.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home.
