Sherry D. Dennis

MOULTRIE — Sherry D. Dennis, 42, of 212 Fifth St. N.W., died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center of Valdosta, Ga.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, at White Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. C.L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 2 with Freddie Johnson, Mike Stanford, Mallory Johnson, Terrell Hill, Stacey Sailor and Calvin Williams serving as pallbearers.

Born March 30, 1964, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late George L. Walker and Queen E. Moore.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Yolonda Peeks; a brother, Nathanial Walker; a sister, Dianne Walker; and an aunt, Lizzie Grant.

Survivors include three sons, Christopher Peeks and wife Kimberly of Thomasville, Ga., Travis Peeks of Boston, Ga., and Jamario Peeks and wife Latoya of Moultrie; two brothers, George Walker Jr. and wife Laviana of Moultrie and Willie L. Walker and wife Sarah of Barwick, Ga.; six sisters, Geraldine McNeil and special friend Willie C. Young, and Charlotte Johnson and husband Willie C., all of Moultrie, Teresa Gardner and husband Timothy, Cynthia Walker of Funston, Marie Gardner and husband Freddrick of Tennessee and Carolyn Williams of Valdosta; an aunt, Flossie Stafford of Moultrie; two uncles, Obie Merritt of Hinsonton, Ga., and Willie H. Merritt and wife Jerline of Pelham; a devoted friend, John Williams of Moultrie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clarence “Gooney” Wyche

MOULTRIE — Clarence “Gooney” Wyche, 72, of 410 Apt. B 7th Avenue Northwest, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at Sunrise Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Luke Strong And Son Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John W. Greene Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Pallbearers Cemetery No. 1 with Michael Persley, Joseph Daniels Jr., Markil Kendrix, Leo Kendrix, John Kendrix and Dan Kemp III serving as pallbearers.

Born Aug. 15, 1933, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late James A. Wyche and the late Willie Mae Wyche.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Lewis and Mildred Johnson; and two brothers, Billie Wyche and James Wyche Jr.

Survivors include a brother, Buford Wyche of Moultrie; five nieces, Bernice Blunt, Alvera Robinson, Francine Lovett and husband Johnny Frank and Emma Jean Kendrix and husband John, all of Moultrie, and Annie Doris Wyche of Homestead, Fla.; a nephew, Jessie James of Homestead, Fla.; and a host of great-nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Michael Dewayne “Fat Boy” McDougale

MOULTRIE — Michael Dewayne “Fat Boy” McDougale, 41, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Aug. 3, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Mark Jordan and Barry Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Born Oct. 8, 1964, in Thomas County, Ga., he was the son of Sarah Purvis Vasquez of Moultrie and the late Williard Lee McDougale. He was self-employed as a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Michael McDougale; a brother, Timothy Craig Sellers; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Dean, Burlie Purvis and Mr. and Mrs. S.A. McDougale.

Survivors include his wife, Stacey Sapp McDougale of Moultrie; a son, Michael Dewayne McDougale Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Tamara McDougale Segura of Moultrie; a special aunt and uncle, Christine and Denvelle Hall of Moultrie; and a special friend, Betty Williamson of Moultrie.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 3, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
